1 What is a Savannah?
A Savannah is a new cat breed produced by breeding a African Serval to a domestic cat. Sometimes called a Serval hybrid, the breed offers individuals a large cat that looks like a Serval in body type and coat pattern, but has a domestic temperament.

 

2 How much of a down payment is required ?
A $400. down payment is required. The down payment is non refundable,but can be transferred to another cat  if you change your mind.

3. What makes a Savannah the most desired feline?
Long admired for their magnificent beauty, Servals possess a dramatic, golden coat marked with clear black spots. They are elegant, highly intelligent, and display charming personalities. However, many states don’t allow private ownership of exotic cats such as the Serval, but they will allow Savannah hybrids. The largest hybrid feline available, Savannahs have all the wonderful Serval traits while being considered a domestic cat. More manageable than a Serval, Savannahs are SMALLER, weighing approximately 20 to 12 lds depending on generation . They don’t require special diets or facilities; Servals almost always require a costly raw meat diet, Savannahs eat a high quality dry domestic cat diet. Savannahs are extremely intelligent , They’re excellent with other pets and children and create very strong bonds with their owners.

4. When are Savannah kittens ready to leave Advanced Savannahs ?
As soon as we feels a kitten is ready to be shipped,. This is typically around 9 to 12weeks of age.

5. What type of litter do we use ?
We use Fresh Steps clumping or Worlds Best .We recommend you ONLY use higher end litter to avoid eye and respiratory infections .

6. Do Savannahs really have a domestic personality?
Savannahs have a domestic “dog-like” personality. Owners are amazed at how their Savannah follows them around the house and comes when  called. As social as a domestic cat, Savannahs possess much more intelligence and have very high energy.

7. How are savannahs with pets ?

We socialize our kittens with dogs and other cats . We recommend that keep your new cat in a bedroom or bathroom the 1st week to allow them to get used to the surroundings.Slowly introduce them to rest of house .
8. How are Savannah cats with children?
f-3 and later generations are great with children,  We do not recommend f1s or f2s with small children

9. What type of food do we recommend ?
We only use EVO ,It is a very high end food,   A bag is sent with each kitten,

10. Do Savannahs have to be kept indoors?
No, they don’t have to be kept indoors. Advanced strongly urges new owners to keep their Savannahs on a leash with a harness  when outdoors as there are often stray animals carrying various diseases. Do not use a collar with the leash.

11. What kind of care is needed for a Savannah?
A Savannah can be treated just like any domestic cat. NO SPECIAL CARE IS REQUIRED.  Regular veterinarians  are qualified to treat a Savannah. Savannahs are vaccinated the same as domestic cats.
